Overview
You can now point to specific line items in an invoice and apply a Quick Credit Discount Credit. This feature gives you precise control over which charges receive discounts.
How It Works
Now you can choose which line items of an invoice should receive a discount credit, rather than applying the discount to the entire invoice.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Open the invoice you want to credit
- Click on the specific line item in the invoice that needs the discount
- Click on the Quick Credit button
- You will be prompted to confirm your selection
Confirmation Options
When prompted, you can:
- Apply discount to the invoice in general - Start at the top and apply to the whole invoice
- Confirm the specific line - Proceed with crediting only the line you selected
- Cancel - If you wish to highlight a different line for the discount
Tax Adjustments
For Unpaid Invoices
When you apply a Quick Credit to a line item on an unpaid invoice, the system will:
- Apply the credit to the selected line
- Automatically adjust the tax as appropriate
For Partially Paid Invoices
Important Note: Invoices with a payment applied assumes you are responsible for the taxes attached to the invoice.
When applying a discount credit to a line item in a partially paid invoice:
- The line item amount will be discounted
- The tax will NOT be adjusted
This is because payment has already been received, and tax responsibility has been established.
