Customize Your Customer Account Status

Cornerstone has added a new feature to Alarmwin: custom Account Status'. As well as the standard selectable Account Status' listed in the system, you can now add your own custom status' to differentiate between account types or track project phases.

Use Case Examples

Custom status examples you might want to create:

  • Pre-wire
  • Phase 1
  • Phase 2
  • Finish / Trim Out
  • Installation
  • Programming
  • Training
  • Fire
  • Burg


Security Requirements

Note: You will need security administration rights to access this menu option. Contact your administrator for access.


How to Add a New Custom Account Status

There are two ways to add, remove or make inactive an Account Status.

Method 1: From the Utility Menu

  1. Click Utilities > Manage Lists
  2. Click Customer (Tab) then Click Account Status
  3. From the account status window, Click Insert
  4. Enter the new account status then Click OK to save

Method 2: From The Customer Account

  1. Open the customer list screen. Highlight the customer and click Change. Alternatively double left click on the customer account to open
  2. Click the search icon next to the account status field
  3. Click Insert
  4. Enter the new account status then Click OK to save
  5. Highlight the new account status and click Select to assign the new status to the customer account


Assigning a New Status to a Customer Account

  1. Open the customer list, double Click the account or highlight the account and Click Change
  2. Click the search icon next to the account status field
  3. From the Account Status list, highlight the status you would like to assign then click Select or double left click to select
  4. The customer status has been changed to the new account status


How to Make an Account Status Inactive

Method 1: From the Utility Menu

  1. Click Utilities > Manage Lists
  2. Click Customer (Tab) then Click Account Status
  3. From the Account Status window, highlight the Account Status you would like to make 'Inactive' and click Change
  4. Put a check in the 'Inactive' checkbox. Then click OK

Note: If a customer was assigned an account status and that account status is now marked as 'Inactive' it will still show on the customer account unless a new account status is selected.

Method 2: From The Customer Account

  1. Open the customer list screen. Highlight the customer and click Change. Alternatively double left click on the customer account to open
  2. Click the search icon next to the account status field
  3. From the Account Status list, highlight the status you would like to make inactive and click Change
  4. Put a check in the 'Inactive' checkbox, then click OK


To View Inactive Status'

To view inactive status':

  1. Go to Utilities > Managed Lists > Customer (Tab) > Account Status
    • Alternatively go to a customer account, then click on the search icon next to the account status field to bring up the Account Status selection list
  2. Put a check in 'Show Inactive' checkbox
  3. Any inactive status' will show the inactive icon next to the status


Filtering the Customer List for a Specific Account Status

  1. Open the customer list
  2. Option 1: Click the search icon next to the Status selection box, select the account status you would like to filter for and click OK
  3. Option 2: Click the Status (Tab) then enter the account status you are searching for in the Account Status field then hit TAB on your keyboard
  4. The customer list will be filtered for customers with the account status selected


Reports That Can Filter by Account Status

A number of customer reports can also filter for a specific status:

  1. Accounts Created Report
  2. Accounts Closed Report
  3. Central Station Audit Report
  4. Customer List Report
  5. Customer Email Audit Report
