Overview
This article explains how to close a master account in two scenarios: closing the master account along with all of its associated feeder accounts, or closing the master account while keeping one or more feeder accounts open.
When a master account is closed, the software automatically closes all associated feeder accounts as well. If you do not want to close all feeder accounts, you must first remove their relationship to the master account before closing the master account.
⚠️ IMPORTANT
Closing a master account will automatically close all linked feeder accounts. If you need to retain any feeder accounts, follow Option B below and remove those feeders from the master relationship before entering a closed date on the master account.
Option A: Close a Master Account and ALL Feeder Accounts
Use this option when you want to close the master account and every associated feeder account at the same time.
- Navigate to the master account.
- Locate the "Closed" field and enter a date.

- A prompt will appear asking if you wish to close the account and all feeders. Click "YES" to proceed with closing all accounts.
Option B: Close a Master Account but RETAIN Specific Feeder Accounts
Use this option when you want to close the master account but keep one or more feeder accounts open. You must remove the master/feeder relationship from each feeder you wish to retain before closing the master account.
- Do NOT enter a closed date on the master account yet.
- Go to the individual feeder account(s) you wish to keep open.
- Click on the "Recurring Charges" section.
- Highlight the specific charge(s) related to the master/feeder relationship.
- Click the "Change" button.
- In the opened window, remove the master account number from the "Master Account" field.

- Click "YES" when prompted to confirm you want to remove the relationship to the master account.

- Repeat steps 2–7 for every feeder account you want to keep open.
- Once you have removed the master account relationship from all desired feeder accounts, go back to the master account.
- Locate the "Closed" field and enter a date to close the master account. The remaining feeder accounts will not be automatically closed.
